To ensure the effective evaluation of participants' learning and to meet the requirements for Continuing Education (CE) credits, the online Transactional Analysis psychotherapy training program incorporates a variety of assessment tools. These tools are designed to assess participants' understanding, knowledge application, and competency in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy.
The following assessment methods are utilized:
1. Knowledge Assessments
Participants complete knowledge assessments, consisting of multiple-choice, true/false, or short-answer questions at the end of each module where they have to answer at least 80% of the questions right. These assessments evaluate participants' comprehension of theoretical concepts and principles presented in each module.
2. Case Studies or Clinical Vignettes
Participants analyze and apply Transactional Analysis techniques and interventions to case studies or clinical vignettes during each module. They provide written responses, including assessments, treatment plans, and proposed therapeutic strategies.
3. Role-Plays or Skills Demonstrations
Participants engage in role-plays or skills demonstrations to demonstrate their application of Transactional Analysis techniques in simulated therapy sessions via break out rooms in each module. These activities assess their ability to establish rapport, utilize appropriate interventions, and navigate therapeutic challenges.
4. Reflective Journals or Written Reflections
Participants maintain reflective journals throughout the program, documenting their thoughts, insights, and personal growth related to the learned concepts. These journals provide a platform for participants to integrate and apply their knowledge in their professional contexts.
5. Case Study Presentations
Each participant will prepare and present a case study at half way (10 weeks) and the end (20 weeks) of the program that showcases their comprehensive incorporation of case formulations, therapeutic plans, and understanding of Transactional Analysis principles in their clinical work.
6. Supervision or Mentorship Assessments
If participants have access to supervision or mentorship, assessments include feedback from supervisors or mentors on participants' performance, growth, and integration of Transactional Analysis concepts and techniques.
These assessment tools align with the specific learning outcomes of each module and ensure fair, reliable, and valid evaluation of participants' knowledge, skills, and application of Transactional Analysis in a therapeutic context.
