I have a diverse educational background in psychology, counseling, and psychotherapy. I completed my bachelor's degree in psychology at California State University, Los Angeles. Building upon that, I pursued further education and earned graduate degrees (MA and PhD) in psychoanalytic studies from the University of Essex in the UK. This specialized training deepened my understanding of psychodynamic concepts and their application in therapeutic contexts. In order to pursue clinical work, I underwent extensive (4 years) clinical training in Transactional Analysis at the prestigious Metanoia Institute in London. This comprehensive training program provided me with the necessary knowledge, skills, and practical experience to effectively apply Transactional Analysis in therapeutic settings.
In addition to these, upon moving to the US in 2017, I pursued another master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria. This comprehensive program provided me with a solid foundation in counseling theory, research, and practical skills. Through coursework and supervised clinical experiences, I successfully obtained licensure as a mental health professional in the state of Texas in September 2021 (TX #83660). This licensure serves as a testament to my commitment to professional excellence and my ability to adhere to the highest standards of practice.
Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience working with diverse populations in various settings. I have worked with "at-risk" youth in a residential school, adults with severe mental illness in a residential halfway home, immigrants, and asylum seekers in a foundation in London, and psychotherapy clients in private practice internationally via in-person and online therapy since 2013.
In 2021, I also obtained my credentials as a Provisional Training and Supervisory Transactional Analyst (PTSTA), marking a significant milestone in my professional journey. Since then, I have dedicated myself to providing training and supervision to psychotherapists around the world.
My role as a Provisional Training and Supervisory Transactional Analyst involves sharing my expertise and knowledge with aspiring and experienced psychotherapists alike. Through comprehensive training programs and ongoing supervision, I aim to support therapists in honing their skills, expanding their theoretical understanding, and enhancing their clinical practice.
My approach to training and supervision is informed by my own experiences as a therapist and my commitment to fostering growth and development in others. I strive to create a supportive and collaborative learning environment where therapists can explore new concepts, expand their perspectives, and gain practical skills that can be applied in their practice.
As a global trainer and supervisor, I am dedicated to promoting cultural sensitivity and embracing diversity. I recognize the importance of understanding and valuing different cultural contexts, and I incorporate this awareness into my training programs. By acknowledging and honoring the unique perspectives and backgrounds of participants, I aim to create a space that is inclusive and enriching for all.
My academic and practical experiences have provided me with a unique perspective on the need for advanced psychotherapy skills training programs, especially in the context of the United States. I have observed that the prevailing approach in the US is to offer Transactional Analysis (TA) Practitioner training programs that may not delve as deeply into the richness and depth of TA Psychotherapy training programs commonly found in Europe.
Additionally, I have recognized the limitations of traditional college graduate programs in the US, which tend to prioritize theories and research over the development of practical therapeutic skills. While these programs provide a strong theoretical foundation, there is often a gap in the practical application of therapeutic techniques and interventions. This disparity highlights the need for specialized training programs that place a greater emphasis on developing practical skills and enhancing clinical competence.
By offering a comprehensive online TA Psychotherapy training program in the US, I aim to address these limitations and provide therapists in the US with an opportunity to enhance their clinical practice. The training will not only cover the theoretical aspects of Transactional Analysis but also emphasize the application of TA principles and techniques in therapeutic settings. Participants will gain practical skills that can be directly applied in their work with clients, allowing for a more effective and holistic approach to psychotherapy. In addition, by offering this training online, I aim to provide a flexible and accessible learning platform for aspiring psychotherapists and counselors, regardless of their location. This online format allows individuals to participate in the training program from the comfort of their own homes or offices, eliminating the need for extensive travel or relocation.
Through this training program, I aspire to contribute to the professional development of therapists in the US, equipping them with the tools and knowledge necessary to provide high-quality, client-centered care. By bridging the gap between theory and practice, I believe we can enhance the therapeutic outcomes and overall well-being of individuals seeking mental health support. Ultimately, my goal is to empower therapists in the US to expand their therapeutic repertoire, cultivate their clinical expertise, and provide more comprehensive and effective care to their clients. The program encompasses a range of experiential and interactive learning activities, case studies, and group discussions to facilitate an engaging and enriching learning experience.
Furthermore, as a Provisional Training and Supervisory Transactional Analyst, I am dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of professional ethics and competence in my training approach. I will draw upon my own diverse background and extensive experience to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where participants can explore and grow both personally and professionally.
